PIERCE COUNTY ROOFER’S APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
Our Mission Statement:
To provide quality education and training for those entering or who have entered the roofing and waterproofing industry.
How Can Pierce County Roofers Help You?
You earn while you learn the trade. Fees for your classes will come out of your wages.
You don’t pay to be an apprentice. An apprentice roofer is an employed worker who learns in the classroom and on the job while making good wages and benefits.
Our Training Facility is located on Clover Park Technical College’s campus.
Our geographical jurisdiction covers all of Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Pacific and surrounding areas with headquarters in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington.
Our Program accepts applications year round, and includes drug screening.
As an apprentice, your wages and benefits are secured through collective bargaining with employers.
Roofers install a wide range of roofing and waterproofing products and systems. Each roofing job is different, and each job presents new challenges. Roofing is hard. Roofers work outdoors in all kinds of weather, typically working at heights. Learn more about Types of Roofing we teach HERE.
We work in affiliation with the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers. Learn more about Union Roofers HERE.
You can find a list of Training Agents (Roofing Contractors) we work with HERE.
You can find more information about renting our training facility HERE.
Think of roofing as a career, not just a job. In roofing, you don’t have to change careers to stay engaged and move ahead. In roofing you will face new challenges, learn new skills, and earn higher wages.
Our Apprentices at Work!
“Pierce County Roofer’s JATC Is the best roofing apprenticeship program In Washington State and one of the best in the nation. Their partnership with Clover Park Technical College has been a remarkable success. Two years in a row they have sent apprentices to the national championship. Out of all the apprentices that compete in this competition only nine are selected nationwide to go to the national championship, this is a great achievement. Training director Racheal Geyer and instructor Ryan Weichert have made this program the top standard for the roofing industry I would like to thank them for all their hard work and dedication to the roofing industry.”
